Open to all photographers who have a knack for heritage shooting, Kabag-uhan is a novel way of connecting with the past. Seven (7) rendered images of Cebu streetscapes and heritage points from Andoni Aboitiz’s private collection were recently released at AboitizLand’s Official Facebook Page Made for Life (www.facebook.com/MadeForLife) and AboitizLand’s website (www.aboitizland.com) .

Up for the challenge?

The task is to identify the location of the rendered images and photograph it in its present state on the exact or closest location.

One (1) winner per rendered image will win cash prizes and be featured on AboitizLand’s Kabag-uhan: Now and Then Photo Exhibit – Year 2 as part of its participation at Gabii Sa Kabilin 2012. The challenge rolled out last April 16, Monday and will run until May 16.

Apart from Kabag-uhan: Now and Then Photo Contest and Exhibit, AboitizLand will also be offering Cebu Trivia Night, Heritage Show and Food Festival for Gabii Sa Kabilin 2012 on May 25. Like Made For Life on Facebook to get updated for these AboitizLand’s cultural treats.

The Anvil Awardee Gabii Sa Kabilin (Cebuano for Night of Heritage) is spearheaded by Ramon Aboitiz Foundation Inc. and supported by Visayas Association of Museums and Galleries Inc., local government and private sectors.  More museums and heritage points such as Casa Gorordo Museum,
Cathedral Museum of Cebu, Fort San Pedro, Museo Sugbo, and local government units await everyone in offering more than the usual heritage experience complete with tartanilla rides and cultural presentation on May 25 from 6PM to midnight.

Kabag-uhan: Now and Then Photo Contest Year 2 Contest Mechanics

Registration is due on April 30, 2012.
b. Participants. This contest is open to all eighteen (18) years old and above.
c. Duration. The duration of the contest is from April 16 to May 16, 2012.
d. Entry Requirements. An official entry shall comprise the following:
•    A valid entry is any photo taken at exact perspective / closest perspective of the officially released image;
•    An un-mounted 8R or 8”x10” Photo Print with the photographer’s name pasted  at the back of the entry;
•    The RAW file/ JPEG file (edited file) of the image in CD/DVD format with the name of the photographer on the CD/DVD.

All files must be named in the following manner IMAGE CODE_XY, where:
IMAGE CODE     – represents the image code of the rendered /     released photo
X         – represents the first letter of the photographer’s first name
Y – represents the full photographer’s last name

Example:GSK-01_AManzo – for the photo containing the exact perspective of image GSK-01, submitted by Arianne Manzo

Official entries are to be placed in a sealed envelope with the photographer’s     name and address on the upper left hand portion;
e. Photo Guidelines.
•    All images submitted may be in full color, sepia or black and white. HDR (High Dynamic Range), IR (Infra Red), and Panoramic (stitched) images     shall not be accepted.
•    Post processing like exposure control (dodge and burn), color saturation (control), creative cropping, contrast/brightness adjustment, and other minor digital retouching are allowed. Composite images and digital alteration like adding/removing of any part of the image are disallowed.
h.Deadline. All entries should be mailed or personally delivered on or before May 16 2012 in a sealed envelope to AboitizLand, Inc. #1 Paseo Saturnino, Ma. Luisa Road Banilad, Cebu City.
